Building reell Focus: focus, one ring at a time
April 2026
reell Focus started with a simple question: what would a focus timer look like if it never nagged? No streaks to protect, no red badges, nothing blinking for attention.
The answer became two rings and a circle. You drag to set the balance of focus and breaks, and the app gets out of the way. You can feel it without installing anything: the same ring runs as a Pomodoro timer in your browser. The breaks are real breaks, from breathing to a stretch, because rest is part of the work.
How the purchase behind it works, without a subscription and without an account, is in one-time purchase with StoreKit 2.
Why we build this way at all is in Why calm software matters in the age of AI.
Most of the effort went into the things you never notice: how the time reads at a glance, how a pause feels, how little the app asks of you. That quiet is the feature.
